Regardless of where you call home, everyone welcomes the coming of summer. The sun’s warmth finally penetrates the cold, dark days of winter and like a struggling seedling sprouting from frozen Earth, people emerge from their winter land of coats and boot. The first couple of warm weeks find many individuals kicking into high gear. They return to their usual routines of eating well and adding back physical activity. In other words, the hibernation weight melts leaving tight and toned bodies. The summer prep list looks something like this:
Sculpted, rock hard abs, which have taken months of dedication and self-control
Ripped chest and arm muscles just begging to admired by the opposite sex
Stylish but understated swim trunks or that tiny string bikini that accentuate the rest of the physique
Casually wind blown hair complimenting the “just in the sun” tan
What’s left in the celebration of spring? And on a warm, sun-drenched afternoon, the final element has got to be beer. But after all that hard work at the gym and the gastronomic pleasures you forgave in order to get back in shape, is catching the brew buzz really worth the added belly? For many the answer is simply, “no”. In response the American beer market has been flooded with low-cal, low-carb options, usually 100-calorie option, in lieu of the heavier lagers, which typically weigh in at 150-calories. Swapping the low-cal, low-carb brew could save one up to five pounds a year as long as one keeps in mind- if the beer tastes bad don’t drink, regardless of the low caloric value. A beer you truly enjoy is the only beer to swig. Here’s a break down of some of the more popular lighter options for summer drinking and for maintaining that new svelte you.
