The Beijing Olympics have brought us some amazing accomplishments and world records. Michael Phelps proved that it's possible to genetically create a half man half dolphin by winning 8 gold medals and breaking countless world records. On August 18th, 2008 , Yelena Isinbayeva broke the world record for the women's pole vault and it's gotten so little attention. Barely a whisper ... Is it because Yelena is wearing the red, white and blue from a different country ? What you mean NBC and the rest of the American sports media isn't maintaining it's journalistic objectiveness ?
Ha Ha. Have you watched any of the gymnastic coverage ?
Well , Yelena's accomplishment shouldn't go unnoticed. She just happens to be the second hottest pole vaulter in the world next to Allison Stokke.

Anyone Feel Like Sneezing All Of A Sudden ?
In the first week of competition, the Beijing Olympics have already given us some incredible memories. The opening ceremonies were nothing short of amazing as thousands of performers dazzled us with unprecedented levels of artistry and synchronization. We have watched in awe as athletes have broken world records and set new standards in athletic excellence.
But some people have caught Olympic fever a little more than others.
Check out this insane replica of the Beijing olympic village made from a total of 140,000 playing cards. Taking over 20+ days to put together, this guy has one steady had and a whole lot of free time.

Check out this video clip of Kimbo Slice “training” LaDainian Tomlinson backyard ghetto style for new Nike “Train Like LT” promo. The video is super funny with shots of Tomlinson training heavy bag on a refrigerator, with a built in hook (the freezer door), bench press, a stick with two old Air Conditioning units attached and the best of all, leg press using an old car.
So that's how Kimbo gets ready for fights ... Check out the clip.

One of the most popular articles written about the Beijing Olympics is the story of the Olympic hostesses. The initial draw to the story was the announcement by event organizers carefully and delicately detailing the criteria for selection. Once the requirements were laid out, the next compelling piece of the story were the pictures chronicling the girls in training? Many of the photos are shocking and degrading to women. Yet, the images continued to bounce around the web as many looked on in astonishment and horror. The young ladies, all between 5’6” and 5’10”and rumored to have the length of the nose and width of the mouth within a certain ratio, have endured hours of rigorous training. Preparation for the Games included biting chopsticks in order to achieve a more natural smile showing between six and eight teeth, practicing and perfecting a 45 degree leaning handshake, properly kneeling and of course achieving perfect standing posture by balancing books on one’s head for an hour. One should always put their best face forward but why the need to venture to this extreme? China is a country under pressure from mass protests over it questionable human rights record especially concerning women. Are you familiar with some of the country’s worst incidences of discrimination against women? Pretty girls obediently complying in public is not the real story; respecting women and fostering their well-being should by the country’s main concern. Referring to a fact sheet prepared by the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Center for Human Rights with information provided by Amnesty International-USA, the information is appalling.
Check them out after the break. Be prepared, you will probably be disgusted.
